Free downloadable score with lyrics available here: http://www.kyokokitamura.com/scores/ Will you take me to a restaurant? I think I need to eat something. No, I am not a vegan nor am I a vegetarian. But I will surely order stir-fried eggplant in black bean sauce. I was walking in Sunset Park, Chinatown. Rows and rows of fish stores line the streets. I open the door. Next to one particularly large fish was a black leather creature the size of a cat sprawled on ice, A creature that should not exist in a fish store, I had no idea where it came from and more worrisome yet, I had no idea how long it's been there or what it was doing there... Parasite 03:48
Score with lyrics available here: http://www.kyokokitamura.com/scores/ It moves, it flows, it stops, it grows, Precious thing, so fickle and sweet It's in your head, in your heart, eating you inside out alive. It's here again, it calls your name Laughing while you run, hide, deny. You thought you were safe This time around You let yourself believe what could have been.

Zombie Song 03:25
Free downloadable score with lyrics available here: http://www.kyokokitamura.com/?page_id=620 I sliced my fingertip on the countertop and I freaked out when I saw no blood It confirmed my lingering suspicion that I was a zombie in transition I thought my heart beat a little faster when I saw your pretty little face But now I know I don't even have a heart just an old rotten mole in its place like a big black hole in outer space And to make matters worse Aetna will not reimburse the medical costs for my loss. And to make matters worse Vampires are my curse but… Hipsters and bucksters, they all think that those bloodsuckers are hot hot hot They're not not not they should all be shot with a silver bullet while I suck on the silver spoon watching Blue Moon I sliced my fingertip on the countertop and I freaked when I saw no blood It confirmed my lingering suspicion that I was a zombie in transition and I wasn't even in fashion

Free downloadable score with lyrics available here: http://www.kyokokitamura.com/scores/ Charlie Brown met Garfield on the way to school, stepped on his tail, it was not cool. Garfield ran up the tree, then jumped down, Furiously scratched Charlie Brown's eyes out. Charlie Brown met Garfield on the way to school, stepped on his tail, it was not cool. Snoopy tried to kill the cat but fell flat, salivated over Charlie Brown's eyeballs. Charlie's eyes rolled down the street, spinning fast, spinning slow, always on the go, Charlie could not see. A wandering eye gets you nowhere, Don't let it roll too far. [....]

Arm 03:34
It was a sound, a beautiful vibration that I loved, as anonymous as air. Then it grew an arm, a thumb, an elbow, Then it grew a face and I realized I didn't love it anymore. Sometimes all I want is an anonymous sound, A lovely sound without a face Because too much information can Kill the love.

Review by John Sharpe (AllAboutJazz)
“…a genre-defying debut… […] Her expressive, sometimes theatrical, delivery shows a great vocal range, veering from wordless vocalese to near operatic feats via an alluring speech like enunciation. […] The mock serious chorus “always use rubber gloves when handling raw armadillo,” never ceases to amuse. In performance, the dancers don Pepto Bismol-pink rubber hand wear, which would be the cherry on top.”

Review by Richard Kamins (StepTempest)
“In a little under 31 minutes, Kyoko Kitamura creates a wondrous, if somewhat altered, world with just her voice and piano (with occasional electronics and vocal overdubs.) Playful and serious, this music insinuates itself into your mind and leaves one wanting more.”

Review by Bruce Lee Gallanter (Downtown Music Gallery)
“This disc is yet another swell surprise as Ms. Kitamura creates her own world with odd stories, voices and sounds. […] Ever since hearing the Mothers of Invention as a teenager, the sound of silly or satirical lyrics sung seriously still cracks me up. Being a mother herself has helped Kyoko to sing these words in a way that is both joyous and ridiculous with a certain innocent-sounding charm. […] Even at a mere 31 minutes, Kyoko Kitamura has her own weird world so that any of us can enter and be swept away by acquiring this splendid offering.”
